As you are already aware, we are moving forward with welcoming you to visit your loved ones at our facility. We are COVID-19-free facility, and we want to assure you that we will continue to conduct the visitations following the NJ Department of Health guidelines and the utmost care will always be taken to follow all safety procedures.
In order for us to accommodate all families to visit their loved ones through our website’s visitation booking, we would like to request to limit your visitation appointment bookings three times a week to ensure all residents are able to receive visitors and accommodated safely.
Your understanding and cooperation will be greatly appreciated.
Probably not yet, as many facilities may be scheduling visits in advance in accordance with federal and state guidance. Both the federal and state guidance state that long-term care facilities should “consider the number of visitors per resident at one time and the total number of visitors in the building at any time.” As such, the guidance states that the “Facilities should consider scheduling visits for a specific length of time to ensure all residents are able to receive visitors.” Your facility should have a plan for how they are going to accommodate social indoor visits. You should contact your facility and request a social indoor visit with your loved one as soon as possible. The facility is not required to schedule these visits, but that is how most facilities are handling them. Why do I have to schedule a visit? You may not have to. I recently had the extreme good fortune of bringing my ailing 95 year old Mother to Merry Heart after spending almost 18 days at Morristown Hospital. She left the Hospital with a Hospice recommendation. Upon arriving at MH, the Administrator named Anita said "No, no Hospice for her." Over the course of the next week, the staff at Merry Heart provided exceptional and compassionate care to my Mom, so much so that she departed for home thereafter. She is now home living her life and walking again which was truly a Christmas blessing. Thank you again MH!!!!!! All of you were caring, respectful and professional in the manner in which my Mother was treated. My family and I will always be so so grateful.
